Georgia will receive $1.3 billion out of a $42 billion nationwide federal investment in broadband expansion, the largest in U.S. history, the Biden administration announced Monday.

Georgia anti-gangs bill to become law July 1

Controversial legislation imposing mandatory minimum prison terms for gang recruitment in Georgia will take effect July 1. Senate Bill 44 is one of dozens of bills the General Assembly passed this year that will become law with the start of a new fiscal year.

YOUTH SIGN-UPS

Football, Cheerleading Registrations are still being accepted for youth football and cheerleading for this fall’s season in Jones County. Registration is $130 per person and is open through Aug. 1. There will be a mandatory uniform fitting, and a birth certificate should be brought when signing up.
