Child molester to serve 20 years after guilty plea

A Haddock man will be spending the better part of the next two decades in prison after entering guilty pleas to charges of child molestation. Timothy Allen Roupe, 24, was in Jones County Superior Court June 15 to enter guilty pleas to two counts of the lesser-included offense of child molestation.

Two individuals have been indicted for a December shooting at a Jones County recreation complex with investigators continuing to search for two others who were involved. Shakim Tyhiem Reeder and Tyshun Amire Gilmore, both 19 years of age, were indicted June 6.

Elderly man indicted for wife’s murder by Grand Jury

An 86-year-old Jones County man was indicted by a grand jury on murder charges following a tragedy that appears to have started as a domestic dispute. Charles William Hill Sr. was indicted June 6 on one charge of malice murder, one charge of felony murder and two charges of aggravated assault.
