Read Thru the Bible event starts Saturday

A dedicated group of Christians is starting their biggest event of the year Saturday, reading through the entire Bible.The “Read Thru the Bible” event is scheduled to take place Oct. 11-18, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the gazebo at Carol’s Park and everyone is invited to participate.

Duke has continued volunteer work in retirement

Frank Duke has been retired for more than 25 years, but he has not stopped trying to do his part to help his community in a variety of ways.A Georgia Power retiree, Duke, 82, had to go to work early in life. His dad died in 1954 at the age of 54.
The ribbon cutting for Willoway Preschool is celebrated by the Jones County/Gray Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Gray Sept. 24 at its location at 133 Bill Conn Parkway.
