Jones County Board of Education members had a brief called meeting to attend to several budget items, followed by a lengthy closed session.Board Chairman Ginger Bailey called the June 26 meeting to order, and Interim Superintendent Clinton Burston quickly got into the action items on the agenda.

City’s voting districts redrawn ahead of election

Relaxed requirements for mandated redistricting for the City of Gray resulted in a much easier task for city council members than previous years.Prior to this year, the most recent redistricting for the city took place in 2013. The process takes place approximately every 10 years following the U.S.

Early voting next week for PSC runoff

A close election in the Public Service Commission District 3 primary for the Democratic candidate is the reason a runoff election is scheduled July 15.The primary election was held June 17 but received the attention of only a few voters, not only in Jones County but across the state.
