A Haddock man is on his way back to prison after facing seven cases in Jones County Superior Court last week.Maurice Keith Greene Sr., 63, is well known to Jones County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Gray Police officers with active cases that date back to 2015.

The Jones County School System 2024-25 Teacher of the Year is Charm Mapp from Clifton Ridge Middle School.Mapp was announced as Teacher of the Year by Superintendent Charles Lundy during the annual award ceremony April 3.

Benny Gray Jr. will go on record as the longest-serving councilman in the City of Gray’s history. He served the city’s District 2 for 35 years. The councilman served continuously since he took office Jan. 1, 1990, until he resigned Feb. 14, 2025. He was re-elected eight times.
