Pair indicted for attempt to influence witnesses

Two individuals were indicted by a Jones County Grand Jury last week for the charge of influencing a witness, which was the direct result of a theft case from the previous month.Edward Jerome Broadus Jr. and Chamikka Latrica Goodman were indicted on the charge April 8.

Members of the Jones County Board of Education selected an interim superintendent for Jones County Schools last Friday before announcing the exit of the current superintendent.The board had a called meeting April 18 and released a statement that was to be circulated to JCSS staff members.
