Martha was born on, May 30, 1947, in Lyons, Georgia to the late AJ Willis and Kathryn Fulford Willis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fortynine years, Billy Edward Burgamy and her brother, Larry AJ Willis.

Martha was the most generous, loving, thoughtful, selfless mother, sister, aunt, and an outstanding caretaker to her family. The more the merrier was Martha’s and Billy’s graceful life that they shared with many children they took care of. Her home was an open door to any who needed a place to stay or find comfort from the world.

Martha was a devoted competitive bowler which led her to the induction into the Women’s International Bowling Congress Hall of Fame in 1996. She was the highest female average bowler in Georgia from 1985 to 1992. She and Billy coached and taught many children to bowl a 300 game with ring recognition including her three sons and grandson Jonathan Willis. Always laughing, she mastered stirring the pot to get a good old fashion laugh after she instigated a poke of fun with her aunts, nieces and grandchildren.

Martha is survived by her sons, Michael Todd Willis (Reidsville, Georgia), Richard Harry Burgamy Sr. (Amy), (Milledgeville, Georgia), Brian Willis Burgamy, (Eatonton); 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Willis Clark, (Lyons), Georgia, Jo Anne Willis Jenkins, (Eatonton), Georgia; three Aunts, Patsy Willis Newham, (Vidalia, Georgia) Alice Willis Ryals, (Townsend, Georgia), and Martha Smith, (Milledgeville, Georgia); a host of nieces, nephews and a host of bonus children.
