Crystal Cheree Thomas Elkins passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026.
A memorial service was held Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Gray Memorial Chapel, 4378 Gray Highway, Gray, GA 31032 with a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the service.
Reverend Steve Ard officiated. Interment followed at Gray Memorial Gardens, 111 Greene Settlement Road, Gray, GA.
Crystal was born on, Feb. 13, 1980, in Macon, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her father, Bill Thomas.
Crystal never met a stranger and always acted like she knew everyone.
She always had a story to tell and if she didn’t have a story, she was the story.
Crystal loved animals which was evident in her work on the farm with horses, cows, and sheep.
She lived life to the fullest, day by day, and went with the wind. Her children will forever remember her kind, funny, joyful spirit.
She was creative, inspiring and adventurous. Faithfilled she lived Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Crystal is survived by parents, Wayne and Shela Johns; children, Brandon NeSmith, Ashleigh (J.T.
Frazier) NeSmith, Holly Elkins, and Sara Elkins.
Many other loving friends and family.
