Bobbie Morrison Hutto

Sept. 20, 1946 - Sept. 21, 2026

Bobbie Morrison Hutto, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was defined by faith, family, hard work, and love.

Bobbie began her career with Southern Bell Telephone Co. as a switchboard operator and worked her way into a supervisory position. After spending time as a devoted stay-athome wife and mother, she returned to work and spent 25 years with GEICO as a purchasing agent for the southeastern region. Her work ethic and determination were truly remarkable.

For 62 years, Bobbie shared her life with her beloved husband, James Hutto, who lovingly called her his “sweetheart of 62 years.” Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and making memories.

Bobbie was intelligent, faithful, joyful, determined, compassionate, and kindhearted. She began each morning in her prayer garden, spending quiet time with the Lord before beginning her day. Family always came first. She loved celebrating birthdays and holidays, camping with her sisters and family, traveling in their motorhome, visiting beaches and lighthouses, and watching beautiful sunsets with James at Lake Juliette. She especially enjoyed cooking fresh vegetables from James’s garden and caring for the people she loved.

She taught her family the meaning of love and loyalty and always found a way to put others before herself. Her kindness, faith, and loving spirit will be deeply missed.

Bobbie is survived by her husband, James Hutto; daughter, Tonya Sheldon (Mark); grandchildren, Austin Dugger and Abigayle Gordon (Ty); grand puppy, Sadie Belle Sheldon; sister, Sandra Daniel; and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. Morrison and Adelaide Broach Tyler, and sisters Sylvia Pry, Connie Moorman, Ann Fountain, and Diane Reed.

The family received friends on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Gray Memorial Chapel A Celebration of Life followed at 6:00 p.m.
