Feb. 14, 1935 - April 16, 2026
Shirley Miller passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service was held Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Haddock Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation for family and friends at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Ron McClung officiated. Interment followed in the Haddock Baptist Cemetery.
Shirley was born in Haddock, Georgia on February 14, 1935, to the late Edgar Morris and Carrie Miller. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Edward (Jaybird) Miller, siblings, Louie Winslette (Asa), June Winslette (Puff), Bud Miller, Edith Collum (Toby), Phil Miller, and Velma Miller.
Shirley was a member of Haddock Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her determined, resilient and undying spirited personality. Her grandchildren will remember her as an honest woman. She was a hard worker and believed in doing your best. Always be a leader and not a follower. Shirley took charge and handled her business. Most important was her family, God, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Holidays were her favorite times of the year when she enjoyed cooking for her family. She was uncompromised in her do’s and don’ts: You don’t wear white after Labor Day, think of others first, serve the best of your ability, what to wear to a funeral, and if you can, get a job that fits your children’s schedule.
Her legacy to her family is to love your family, lead them to live a righteous life for the Lord, work hard for what you want and helping others when and where you can.
Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Bobbi Birt and her children, Caroline (Chad) Baker, Michael “Brad” Rearden, and Andrea (Greg) Wasiek, daughter, Terri (Hugh) Nesmith, and their daughter, Mandi (Robby) Campbell. Grandchildren, Chase, Chance, Chaden Baker, Emily, Marie-Claire and Avery Rearden, Barett Dunn and Wright Dunn. Nieces, Patricia Miller, Tina Gladin and Hazel Gladin.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Haddock Baptist Church, Haddock Georgia.
The family would also like to thank Jenny, Frances and Stephanie for the care they provided to our Momma while in their care.
