Mr. Ralph Gray Avery, age, 98, of Gordon, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

Funeral Services for Mr. Ralph Avery were held Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 2 p.m. in Williams-White Columns Funeral Home Chapel.

Andy and Michelle Bacchus officiated. The family received friends in Williams-White Columns Funeral Home Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. Interment was private.

Son of the late Andrew Frank and Florence Lillian Miller Avery, Mr. Ralph was a lifelong resident of Wilkinson County. Preceded in death by his son, Randy Taylor, Sr.; brothers, Bud and Bob Avery; sisters, Lizzy, Mary, Nita, Willie Lee; grandson, Christopher Lee Avery. He was owner and operator of Avery Construction Company.

Mr. Ralph Avery was a Corp. of the US Army, fought in Korea at the Yellow River and received the Bronze Star. He loved his birthday and celebrated every year with friends and family coming to their home. He was a member of the Gordon Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Frances Churchwell Avery of Gordon; daughter, Gloria (Charles) Smith of Gordon; sons, Mike (Amy Pierce) Avery of Macon and Joe Avery of Gordon; sisters, Martha (Paul) Bevins of Gordon and Jane Kitchens of Jones County; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.
