The Statewide Bible Reading Marathon that began years ago in the state of Iowa has not only spread across America in recent years, and grown internationally, but will reach a new milestone this year as it will take place in every time zone! In other words, this is now a World-wide Bible Reading Marathon, even occurring in nations where it is illegal to be a Christian or own a Bible!
God has clearly blessed this event as a designated time to honor Him with the public reading of His Holy Word. Every scripture in the Word of God will be boldly declared across our county, state, nation, and throughout the earth.
The date (7/14), and timing (7:14 am), of this event is based on 2 Chronicles 7:14.
God’s promise is unchanging, but conditional, as indicated by the word “IF.” His response is determined by our obedience to the 4-step process. The answer to the problems we face, and our nation face, are realized when we, His Church, understand and act in obedience to fulfill our part of this promise.
The Bible is recognized as the one true revelation from God, showing Jesus as the way of Salvation, Truth, and Life, bringing comfort, guidance, and enrichment in the lives of millions of men, women, and children throughout the centuries.
The decline in the moral fabric of our country can be directly traced to the time when the reading of the Bible was removed from our schools.
America was founded upon biblical principles and the Judeo-Christian ethics taught in the Bible. President Andrew Jackson referred to the Bible as “the Book on which this Republic rests” and President Abraham Lincoln described the Bible as “the best gift God has given to man.”
God’s Word is alive and will accomplish His intended purposes (Isaiah 55:11). This Bible reading will bless both the reader and the hearer, our community, state, and nation. It will bless the whole earth! Perhaps the most important reason anyone should participate is because this is an act of worship that honors God.
Christians in Georgia’s 159 counties will come together on Tuesday, July 14th, at 7:14 AM, at their county courthouses, for the united purpose of the public and unashamed reading of Scripture. Each county has a specific portion of Scripture to read so that every verse from Genesis to Revelation will be declared. This results in the release of God’s blessings over our state, our nation, and throughout the earth. Our reading will take place on the front lawn of the Jones County Courthouse.
Scripture says a lot about itself. One example is Paul’s instructions in 1 Timothy 4:13, “Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture.” Check out the following verses: Psalm 119:105, Matthew 4:4, Romans 15:14, Colossians 4:16, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Revelation 1:3.
This Statewide Bible Reading is an amazing global move of God! Public participation demonstrates you are NOT ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that you recognize God’s Word as the most powerful force in all of creation that causes hearts to change.
Make it a personal priority to stand with our brothers and sisters in Christ by participating in this appointed time of declaring the blessings and healing power of God’s Word over our community. God will honor your sacrifice of taking a stand for Him at this time.
Bring your children and grandchildren! Just think of the potential impact of bringing them to this event! It could be a life changing event for them resulting in eternal heavenly rewards.
