Joseph Batchelor, 76, of Gray, passed away Monday, Aug. 24, 2026.
Funeral services were held graveside, 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, at Fortville Cemetery with Dr. Ron McClung officiating.
Joe was born Aug. 10, 1950, to the late Grady Berry Bachelor Sr. and the late Mary Mercer Batchelor in Haddock.
Joe enjoyed traveling and driving across the country.
When not traveling, Joe enjoyed breeding and showing bantam chickens, winning several awards for best in show. Joe was an avid outdoorsman, shooting skeet and target practicing.
Joe is survived by his nephews, Joe Smith (Debra) of Centerville, and Berry Batchelor (Darlene) of Haddock; cousins, Cheryl Johnson (Don) of Haddock, and Gary Bradley (Bonnie) of Doraville; longtime girlfriend, Janice Scoggins of Eatonton, her son, Greg Scoggins of Eatonton, close friend, Mikey, and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his brother, Grady Barry Batchelor Jr. and his sisters, Martha Middleton and Mary Shepherd.
