Today, my loving wife is in the Lord’s hands, but once she was mine.
Bobbie Jean Gonzalez, 62, passed away on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026. Bobbie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose personality and presence could light up any room.
Bobbie was married to the love of her life, Roberto Gonzalez, for 14 wonderful years. She was truly the life of the party and never met a stranger. A hardworking woman, Bobbie worked in zipper manufacturing and took pride in everything she did.
She was known for being a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen preparing meals for those she loved. Bobbie also had a special talent for knitting and enjoyed making beautiful blankets for family and friends. She loved visiting the casinos and always enjoyed the excitement and fun they brought.
Above all, Bobbie loved her family. The memories she created, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave so freely will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Bobbie is survived by her loving husband, Roberto Gonzalez; her children, Ashley Danielle Champion (Jeremy) and Anica Leigh Lewis; her beloved grandson, Severn Daniel Birdsong; her brother, Clifford “Bubba” Manning Avery (Jennifer); her sisters, Angelene Avery Brown and Bobbie Lee McDaniel; her uncle, Richard Hulie Avery (Virginia); and her nieces and nephews, Bryana Nicole Avery (Kyle), Robert Manning Avery, Korey Josiah Avery (Abby), Matthew Hunter Brown, and Randy McDaniel (Diane).
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Bobbie is now resting in the loving hands of the Lord. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
Today, my loving wife is in the Lord’s hands, but once she was mine.
