Roy Lee “RL” Farrell 80, of Gray, passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2026.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday Oct. 2, 2026, at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA, with Reverend Emory Howell officiating. Burial followed at Plentitude Baptist Church Cemetery. The family greeted friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, at the funeral home.
RL was born Oct. 6, 1945, to the late LeRoy Farrell and the late Maudie Wood Farrell in Macon, GA and graduated from Lanier High School in 1963.
He retired from Noland Company. He enjoyed woodworking and owned Farrell and Son Woodworking. RL was a former deacon and member of Plentitude Baptist Church. His lifelong hobbies were working on stock cars with his nephews and racing go-carts. He was an avid Georgia Bulldawg fan.
RL is survived by his wife, Joyce Farrell; children, Penni Hartley (David), Heather Farrell Cox, Buck Farrell (Dena); stepchildren, Diana Morris (Kirk) of Gray, and Jamie Maki (Summer) of Gray; grandchildren, Michael Wilcox (Stephanie), Dusty Wilcox (Cierra), Niki Logue (Brandon), Audie Newsome (Jordan), DJ Cox (Emily), Hunter Hartley (Amanda), Brock Farrell (Destiny) and Maddy Farrell; step-grandchildren, Taylor Matthews (Kevin), Dylan Wilson, Hannah Wilson, Savannah Norris (Cody), Grant Maki, Griffin Maki, and Genna Maki; 17 great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
