The Greyhounds football program has its new defensive backs coach. Jones County announced last week that Clay Hodges, formerly the defensive coordinator at Veterans, will take over the role of coaching the Greyhounds secondary.
He replaces Bernard Goodrum, who during the offseason took the head coach position at BEST Academy in Atlanta.
Hodges, who coordinated the defense for the Warhawks in 2020 and 2021, also coached the defensive backs for Veterans in 2018 and 2019 following coaching the secondary at Presbyterian College from 2014 to 2017.
Jones County plays at Veterans for its spring game on May 6 and opens the regular season Aug. 20 against Northside in the Middle Georgia Touchdown Club Kickoff Classic which will be at Mercer University’s Five Star Stadium.
