Man pulled from truck after striking home

A morning accident off Joycliff Road involved a pickup truck, tree and a house before the vehicle came to rest.

The report of the accident by Jones County Sheriff Department Deputy Kevin Harden states the accident took place May 3 at 8:11 a.m. on Joycliff Road at Bakers Acres Mobile Home Park.

Harden said the 1998 Dodge Ram truck driven by Aaron Michael Goolsby of Gray left the roadway of Joycliff Road and traveled 219 feet before hitting a tree. The officer said the rear of the truck swung over and hit the residence.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extracted by Jones County Fire Rescue. According to a report of the accident by rescue personnel, a tenant inside the residence was sleeping when the vehicle hit the home.

Goolsby was transported to the hospital, following his extraction from the truck. His condition was listed as critical at the time of his departure from the accident scene.
