“...the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (I John 1:7)

We are all sinners. All of us. Sin separates us from God. Our good works, regardless of how good they are, can do absolutely nothing to cleanse us of our sin and restore fellowship with God.

Only the blood of Jesus can do that. His blood is the only cleansing agent able to wash away sin. God early on in the Bible tells us, “it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul”. (Lev 17:11).To get right with God, one must take a blood bath in Jesus’ blood. Only then is one presentable to God. This is why Jesus died on the cross, to shed His holy blood. This is why we have Easter.

Jesus said, “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” (Matt. 26:28). His blood, not our works, provides remission of sins.

So forget the good works. They become important after salvation! Don’t try to clean up your life first before coming to God. You can’t. Regardless of whatever sins you’ve done, Jesus’ blood is completely capable of washing them away. “...the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (I John 1:7). Are you washed in the Blood?
