Robert L. Wells is the local veteran of the week. He served in the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel. He did his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. After basic, he trained and served in many places stateside, from Robins Air Force Base to California. He also served in Desert Shield, Iraq, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
