Real Life

“And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;” (Eph 2:20)

The Christian faith is built on Jesus. He is the chief cornerstone of belief. Just what is a chief cornerstone? Simply put, it is the main stone of a building on which the rest of the building was constructed. It signified the direction and design of the building. It kept all the walls in line. Jesus is not only a cornerstone, He is the Chief Cornerstone, keeping the Christian faith square and in line.

Upon this cornerstone was laid the foundation of the apostles and prophets. The prophets foretold the coming of Jesus and the Apostles were witnesses of Jesus; they knew Him and were personally taught by Him. They communicated to the rest of us the teachings of Jesus which we can read in the Bible. Thus the cornerstone and the foundation of the Christian faith are solid and true.

Upon this solid foundation the rest of the church is built. Unfortunately there are those who come along and try to reconstruct the foundation by imposing and inserting false doctrine. Such corrupted foundations crumble. Stick to the Bible, to Jesus, and the teachings of the Apostles. When your faith is built on the true foundation, it will stand no matter what.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,

All other ground is sinking sand;

All other ground is sinking sand.
