James Georgia: Jimmy (Jim) Carlton Robinson passed away on Wednesday evening, Nov. 9, 2022, surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, at James Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Thompson officiating.
Jim was born on Jan. 18, 1942, in Jasper County, Florida. He was an electrician by trade and worked for Olson Electric in Daytona Beach, Florida and retired after thirty-two years of service. After moving to Jones County, Jim was an inspector for the Jones County Planning and Zoning Office. He was an active Mason and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Jim was a devoted husband and father and always made time with his family a priority.
Preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Baylor and grandson Jarred Poole.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of twenty-one years, Elaine Robinson; sons, Jim Robinson Jr., David Robinson and daughter, Deborah Barrett; grandchildren, Jessie R. Robinson, Coleman Robinson, Kristen Barrett, and Kyra Shepard; great-grandchildren, Bryson Lee Robinson, Everleigh Poole, Karter Consolazio, Hailei Barrett, Kannon Lockley and Lacy Robinson; brothers, Tommy Robinson, Joseph Baylor and sister, Marilynn Canup.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.
