Lena Lee Jackson

Lena Lee Jackson, 83, of East Juliette, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Lena was born March 7, 1941, to the late Aubrey and Ruby Williams in Thornburg, Arkansas. Funeral services were held Monday, July 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at East Juliette Baptist Church, 183 J.H. Aldridge Drive, Juliette, Georgia, with the Reverend J.R. Jones officiating. The family greeted friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, 86 West Main Street, Forsyth, Georgia.

Lena attended Perryville High School in Perryville, Arkansas.

She met the love of her life, Joseph Jackson, and they were married July 7, 1958. Lena worked as a bookkeeper at multiple businesses around middle Georgia. Her most important work was as a wife and a mother, and she prided herself on her family. She loved jigsaw puzzles and word searches. Lena loved to sing and was at one time a member of a singing quartet. She was a long-time and faithful member of East Juliette Baptist Church. Lena was very outgoing and loved to meet new people. Helping others, especially the elderly, was very important to her. She enjoyed working as a case manager for the Jones County Neighborhood Service Center and as the director for the Older Americans Council in Jones County.

Lena is survived by her daughters, Donna Horne (Ronnie) of Haddock, Georgia and Sharon K.

Williamson (Kelly Green) of Gray, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Joseph Tanner (Missy) of Gray, Bob Horne (Bre Marsh) of Grovetown, Georgia, Jesseca Williamson (Chris Allen) of Haddock, Kimberly Williamson (Brian Beckham) of Milledgeville, Georgia, Jeremy Williamson (Kristy Alonso) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Nathaniel Shupe (Lashia Meeks) of Juliette, Georgia, and Cassy Shupe of Williston, North Dakota; great-grandchildren, Harleigh Tanner, Cameron Allen, Autumn Allen, Dallas Allen, Joel Smith, Bella Beckham, and Braxton Beckham; brothers, Leonard Williams (Pat) of Little Rock, Arkansas and Jim Williams of Morrilton, Arkansas.

In addition to her parents, Lena is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Tommy Jackson; and daughter, Sandra Frances “Frankie” Lord.
