With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Glenn Gregory (Greg) Simmons, who left this world on Saturday morning, September 7, 2024, at his home in the comforting presence of his beloved family after a brief illness. Greg was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
A celebration of life to honor Greg was held Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Abundant Life Church; 630 Wimbish Road, Macon, Georgia with the Rev.

Born on September 2, 1970, in Milledgeville, Georgia, Greg was the son of the late Bobby Lee Purser and Carolyn Purser. Throughout his life, Greg exemplified a spirit of unwavering dedication and love. He was a Certified Driller and Explosive Expert at Vulcan Materials rock quarry, where his hard work and commitment were well recognized.
Greg’s role was more than just a job; it was a testament to his resilience and dedication.
Greg’s life was marked by his incredible sense of humor, his caring nature, and his generous heart. He was known for his unwavering support and love for his daughter, Regan Simmons, and his wife, Tracy Simmons. Greg took immense pride in being a supportive father and a loving husband, always putting his family first. His love extended beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of his siblings and their families, with whom he shared many cherished memories.
An avid traveler, Greg had a special place in his heart for vacations, with Universal Studios holding a particularly fond spot in his memories. His love for adventure was matched only by his faith in Jesus, which provided him with strength and comfort throughout his life.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Tracy Simmons; his cherished daughters, Regan Simmons; Meganne (Rob) O’Neal, Kristina Dunn; his sons, Dylan (Bre) Fountain and their son Henry, Brandon (Leah) Fountain and their sons Mitchell and August; his mother, Carolyn Purser; his sisters, Elizabeth Pickett, Debbie Purser, Beverly (Danny) Boggs, and Stacy Webb; his brother, Chris (Jennifer) Simmons, Robert Purser and Donnie Purser; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be accepting flowers in Greg’s memory.
Greg’s legacy of love, humor, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
