Braxton Peacock, 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of his life was held Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwood Baptist Church. Burial was in Cedar Ridge Cemetery with the Rev.
Kim Washburn officiating. The family greeted friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenwood Baptist Church, 3400 Gray Highway, Gray, 31032.
Braxton was born in Bleckley County, Georgia to the late Henry F.
Peacock and Lillie Mae Garrett Peacock. He was a sixty-six-year member of the plumbers and pipefitters association.
Braxton was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
He was predeceased by his wife of fiftynine years, Ruthie L.
Walker Peacock; and his daughter, Debbie Peacock Schmidt. He is survived by his son Randy (Angie) Peacock of Gray; son-in-law, Arthur Schmidt of Macon; grandchildren, Joshua (Steven) Kitchens of Atlanta, Kyle (Shelby) Peacock, Kaley (Cameron) Thrasher, Cheyenne Hubbard all of Gray; great-grandchildren Evelyn and Grant Thrasher, Ruth and Braxton Peacock, sister; Wynelle Long of Cochran; numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored.
