Charlene Barbara Sheppard

Charlene Barbara Sheppard, age 82, of Jones County, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Born June 10, 1942, in Jacksonville, Florida, Charlene lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.

A faithful member of Greenwood Baptist Church, Charlene cherished her involvement in the Faith Sunday School Class. She was known for her patient, loving, and genuine spirit, always bringing joy to those around her with her laughter. Charlene found the greatest joy in her children and grandchildren, whose happiness meant the world to her.

Her determination and warmth were constants in her life, and she will always be remembered for her famous hushpuppies, fried okra, and beloved fried apple pies.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Jesse Ronnie Sheppard; her children, Darryl (Stella) Sheppard and Tiffany (Chuck) Sapp; her grandchildren, Ashton, Trevor (Abby), Thad (Britney), Ivy (Tarver)Christina (Cheyenne), Jonathan (Jennifer), and Wesley (Erin); her great-grandchildren, Knox, Hayes, Elijah, Marah, Brayden, Jensyn, Jaysen, Noah, Mason, Kayla, Kash, Morgan, Cohen, Dozier, Jaxson, Sophie, Lizzie, and Cole; her beloved animals, Bella, Danicka, and Skyler; and her beloved chickens, especially, Sasha. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Leopold and Lula Hubert; and brother, Danny Hubert.

Visitation was held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Baptist Church, 3400 Gray Highway, Gray, Georgia. A Celebration of Life service followed at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Joe Ferguson and Rev. Kim Washburn.

Interment was at Cedar Ridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Thad Hartzog, Trevor Sheppard, Jonathan Crouch, Wesley Crouch, Michael Sheppard, and Marty Sheppard.
