This week's winter weather put athletic events at Jones County High School on hold, resulting in a condensed schedule to end the regular season for the Greyhounds and Lady Hounds on the basketball court.
This past Tuesday's game against Ola will now take place Jan. 29 with Friday's contest against Stockbridge put on hold as well to either Feb. 5 or Feb. 6.
With those changes, JCHS will now contest a total of six games, all region contests, over a maximum of 13 days. After this Saturday against Woodland and Hampton on Tuesday, Jones County hosts ELCA and McDonough next Friday and Saturday.
The new end-of-season slate also sets up a make-or-break region title span for the Lady Greyhounds. Unbeaten in the region, they will now face Union Grove and Stockbridge, the second and third-place teams in the region, in consecutive games to end the season.
