Current and future wrestlers from Jones County headed to the club circuit over the weekend in search of medals and an opportunity to face high-level competition.
By the time it was all over, multiple local wrestlers came home with top finishes, including two first-place finishes.
Those wrestlers were Grant Gillhouse, who took first at Kids State and Caleb Thompson at the Beginner’s Bash. They were hardly the only ones, as Nate Wilson and Barrett Rosenberger finished third at Freshman State while the showing at Kid’s State included Thompson finishing third with Levi Martin and Braxton Sapp also competing.
In the Beginner’s Bash, Sapp took second with Wesley Coates and Gunner Moody taking fourth. Others taking on the competition were Joe Sementilli, Lucas Carden, Sailor Scroggins, James Carden, Cohen Wilson, Bradley Heath and Hunter Crawley.
