Jessie Lee McMillan

Jessie Lee McMillan, age 72, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Atrium Macon Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved father, PA, brother and uncle. His loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Born on August 1, 1952, in Adel, Georgia, Jessie was the son of the late Andrew Jackson and Nellie Billings McMillan.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sue McMillan, and his siblings; E.J. McMillan, Jackie McMillan, Mae Dean, Marie Willis, and Louise Kelly.

Jessie was the proud owner of McMillan Construction Company, where his strong work ethic and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients alike. He was known for his wisdom, compassion, and kind heart, always putting others before himself and offering help whenever needed. His work and his caring nature left a lasting impact on those who worked with him and those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his children; daughter, Jessica McMillan, and her daughter, Willow McMillan; son, Jackie McMillan; son, Jerry McMillan (Amy); grandchildren, Shelly McMillan, Kayla Beckworth, Hope Hice, Chloe McMillan; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Nell McMillan Williams (Carl).

His legacy of love, kindness, and hard work will continue to live on through them.

A visitation and gathering for family and friends was held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Gray Memorial Chapel.

Jessie’s life was one of integrity, kindness, and dedication to his family and his work. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will forever be cherished.
