Dustin had the same debilitating disease. See Dustin’s obituary online at graymemorialchapel. com. A joint Celebration of Life for Gail and Dustin was held Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 4 p.m.
Visitation for family and friends was held at 3 p.m.
Both Gail and Dustin were down to Earth casual folk. The family requested people to come, dress casual, and enjoy Gail’s and Dustin’s Joint Celebration of Life.
Gail, better known as “Smiley,” 54, was born on Veterans Day, November 11, 1970, in Macon, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father William B. Greene, Sr. better known as “Billy Blake” to his family and “Duke” to his friends, her brother; William B.
Greene, Jr. better known as “Blake the Snake,” and her son, Dustin Wayne O’Brien better known as “Dynomite.”
Gail graduated from Lanier High School in 1989. She excelled as the Sharpshooter in the ROTC program following in her father’s footsteps who was a veteran and head marksman in the US Army. Gail was nominated and represented Lanier High School as a Senior in the Miss Teenage Macon Bibb County Cherry Blossom Pageant Competition.
An artistic and creative individual, she won numerous awards for her artistic ability at Lanier which was described as exceptional. Gail was the batgirl for her sister, Laura’s (Dixie Darling’s) Georgia State Softball Age 15 Championship Team in 1976. She played softball and was a Macon Bibb County Midget football cheerleader from age 6 to 13 during her mother, Linda Greene’s tenure as President of that Organization. Gail will forever be remembered for her outgoing personality. She and Jesse never missed an opportunity to sing and participate in karaoke separately but were a great duet team. People never missed a chance to request that they perform together.
She loved to dance.
Once on a riverboat cruise with Jesse displaying her charismatic talent by getting the other passengers (mostly foreign ladies) to get up and join Gail while she taught them to line dance. None of these ladies spoke English but joyously followed Gail while she lived up to her nickname “Smiley” with friends, family, and even strangers always. She loved to travel to lakes, go on family trips to the mountains and all beaches. She and Jesse travelled to the Florida Keys which was her most cherished trip. She rang the bell! Gail loved to fly high skydiving, parasailing, hot air balloons, bungee jumping - the higher the better - Gail loved it!
Gail is survived by her devoted husband, Jesse P. Morris; son, Kyle A.
Morris; grandson, Kolt J. Morris all of Macon; her loving and devoted mother, Linda Greene of Byron; sisters, Cathie Burton (Jerry) of Byron and Laura Greene (Tish) of Forsyth; brother, Greg Greene (Barbara) of Warner Robins; and her loving and devoted nephew, Andy “Drew” Ball of Byron; father & mother-in-law, Jessie & Carolyn Morris, sister in-law, Bonnie Ard (Steve), brother in- law, Randy Morris (Jane) all of Gordon; Joe Morris (Gina) of Forsyth; nieces & nephews, Ashlie & Frank, Warner Robins, Brandi & Andrew of Norcross; Mandi, Luke, JoJo & Georgie of Macon; Bryton of Forsyth; and Nikki, Luke, & Layia of Warner Robins.
