Allen Harrell

Allen Harrell, a cherished resident of Gray, Georgia, born on August 14, 1956, in Macon, Georgia, peacefully passed away at home on November 13, 2023. He was 67 years old.

A celebration of Allen’s life took place on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Gray Memorial Chapel and Crematory. The family received friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the Celebration of Life service commencing at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Greg Thompson officiated the ceremony.

Allen was a loving, kind, and adventurous soul, known for his analytical mind, handy skills, and creative spirit. He approached life with a gentle demeanor, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.

As a member of the Loyal Order of The Moose Lodge #1455, Allen was deeply committed to community and fellowship. His diverse range of hobbies spoke volumes about his dynamic personality. Allen enjoyed playing golf, practicing blacksmithing, hunting, and fishing. He found joy in helping at the Moose Lodge, riding motorcycles, gardening, participating in trail rides on four-wheelers, and barbecuing.

Allen’s interests also extended to historical reenactments, particularly those set before 1840, showcasing his Renaissance man persona.

He was a skilled knife maker, showcasing his craftsmanship and dedication to his various pursuits.

Left to cherish Allen’s memory are his beloved wife, Susan Harrell; sons, Bo Harrell, Christopher Harrell, John Tyler Harrell; daughter, Crissy Berryhill; sister, Teresa Henry (Randy); four grandchildren; and his cherished pets. Allen was preceded in death by his father, Homer Harrel, and mother, Cathryn Comer.
