Betty Smith Jackson Tucker

Betty Smith Jackson Tucker passed away Friday morning, April 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving children. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation for family and friends at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gray Memorial. The Rev.

Tommy Freeman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Gordon Family Cemetery, Jackson Store Road, Gray, Georgia 31032. Betty was born on December 31, 1938, to the late Jim and Greta Leslie Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded death by her husbands, Walter Lee Jackson Sr., and Mikey Tucker; daughter, Tina Marie Jackson; sisters, Maxine Hall and Agnes Gay.

Betty was a devoted mother and nana. She loved her family deeply.

When she was younger, she enjoyed her flowers, fishing, canning jams and jellies. Most of all she enjoyed traveling especially to the mountains. Betty was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and never missed a game of TV. She retired from both Piggly Wiggly Southern and Kroger. Her work ethic was one to be admired, working diligently in the meat and seafood department for a number of years. Betty will be deeply missed by those who loved her most.

Betty is survived by her children, Walter Lee Jackson Jr., of Gray, Toni (David) Perham of Bonaire, Brannon “Buck” (Jenny) Jackson of Warner Robins. Grandchildren, Korey Jackson, Reno, NV, Thomas Thigpen III, Warner Robins, Brooklyn Jackson, Warner Robins, and Dalton Perham of Bonaire. Sister, Gussie Tritsch of Gray, and brother, Jimmy Smith of Louisville, KY.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you make a donation to the maintenance of Gordon Cemetery or the building fund of the church of your choice.
