Brandon Thomas Barton

Feb. 16, 1977 - May 16, 2025

Brandon Thomas Barton, age 48, passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2025, while working in Columbus, Georgia. A Celebration of Life was held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Gray Memorial Chapel. Visitation for family and friends began at 12:00 noon, followed by the service at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Steve Johnson.

To celebrate Brandon’s unwavering dedication to the Georgia Bulldogs, the family kindly requested that everyone wore red and black in his honor.

Brandon was born on February 16, 1977, in Macon, Georgia. He was a proud and dedicated service technician for Brown Equipment Company, where he worked faithfully for twenty years.

Brandon was preceded in death by his beloved wife; Shauna Leigh Barton, and his in-laws; Alfred “Duck” Williams and Sondra Williams.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Shealeigh (Colby) Golden and their son Gunner, Abbie Barton, Cortlyn Barton, and Ty (Triston) Barton and their daughter Rylynn. He is also survived by his loving parents, Tom and Gwen Barton; his sister, Kelley (Mike) Fain; nieces, Kira and Kinsley Fain, nephew, Kaiden Fain, and sisters-in-law, Kayela Knight (Eric) and their children, Kraegan and Colton, and Alexis Price (Cameron).

Brandon was a man whose presence lit up every room. He was funny, wise, handy, selfless, loving, kind-hearted, caring, supportive, spirited, and incredibly patient. In true “Papa B” fashion, his unmatched style and spirit captured the essence of living young, wild, and free.

He found his greatest joy in being a father, a coach, and a faithful supporter of his family. Whether cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs, cracking a “dad joke,” or showing up to every baseball game, cheer competition, cow show, and golf tournament—even when they were all on the same day—Brandon made sure his love was felt. He lived every day with purpose, passion, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved.

Brandon leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and loyalty. He was deeply loved, and, in his own words, he loved all of us even more. His spirit will continue to be present in every moment, every game, and every gathering of those who knew and loved him.

May we carry forward his memory by sticking together—because, as Brandon believed, family sticks with family. Gray Memorial Chapel is honored to be entrusted with the care of the Barton family.
