Chester Mercer, 79, of Gray, Georgia, passed away February 8, 2025. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Haddock Baptist Church, with Dr. Ron McClung officiating. The family greeted friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Chester was a retired electrician for Tri-County EMC where he was a long-term board member. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved gardening, fishing and deer hunting. Chester was a lifelong member of Haddock Baptist Church. Chester is survived by his daughter, Sarah A. Mercer of Gray; companion, Grace Seymore of Chapin, South Carolina; sisters, Florence Bohannon of Forsyth, and Linda Morrison of Jackson; sister-in-law, Dorothy Mercer of Forsyth; stepdaughters, Bonnie Danis of Prosperity, South Carolina, and Wendy Crump of Chapin, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
In addition to his parents Chester is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Frances Miller Mercer.
