Clifford Williamson passed away Sunday evening, August 20, 2023, at Pine Point Hospice after a brief illness. Services were held Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. with a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the service at Gray Memorial Chapel, 4378 Gray Highway, Gray, Georgia. The Rev. John Haney and Pastor Adam Bray officiated. A private interment will follow at Elam Memorial Gardens for family.
Clifford was born on August 28, 1928, to the late Walton David Williamson and Annie Coleman Williamson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Sol Williamson, Maude Pruitt, Silas Williamson, Sybil Arnold, Vinie Keeling, Buford Williamson, Ben Williamson, Bertha Edenfield, daughter in-law, Jeannie Williamson, son in law, Chuck Annis, grandson, Kevin Sumner, and great grandson, Cohen Sumner. Clifford enjoyed bringing Jean her morning coffee so they could sit in the swing on their front porch, hold hands and look out over the pond. He was known for his love of fishing and had many fish fries for his family and friends. He loved his Jean, children and was the greatest Pa Pa. He was a jack of all trades, but Clifford was a master of all trades as well. Clifford always had a garden to feed his family and planted his last garden this year.
He was a proud United States Army veteran, having served in the Korean War.
His memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 71 years, Jean, daughter, Diane (Sterling) Sumner, and their children, Jesse (Christie) Annis, Ashley (Will) Mizell, Karen (Woody) Smith, Kenny (Natalie) Sumner, son, Danny Williamson and his children, Tricia (Jonathan) Humphrey, Jennifer (Shaun) Calhoun, Cliff (Brittiany) Williamson, and Mandy Potvin, and 19 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gray Methodist Building Fund, 117 South Jefferson St., Gray, Georgia 31032.
