Clyde L. Irons passed away Sunday evening, Jan.

18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life was held Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, County Line Road, Gordon, Georgia 31031.

The service of life began at 12 noon, with a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the service at 11 a.m. The Reverends Steve Ard and Thomas Graham officiated.

Clyde was born on April 24, 1929, to the late Clinton and Lillie Ann Farley Irons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Marrail Irons, sisters, Agnes Irons, Loyce Brooms, Shirley Goguen, and Janice Schmidtlein.

Clyde was a heavy equipment operator and enjoyed his work no matter where it took him. He enjoyed a good prank and loved to laugh. He had joy in everything he did. He loved life, people, and he loved his church family.

Clyde’s memory and legacy for his family will be his unconditional love, but most of all he loved his Lord and Savior.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joann; his children, Randy (Margaret) Irons, Robin (Rex) Balkcom and Rachel (Thomas E.) Graham; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; his siblings, Dale (Phyllis) Irons, South Carolina, Rick (Pat) Irons, Robbinsville, North Carolina, and Maggie (Roy) Kaplan, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
