Daniel W. Sheffield Jr., passed away on Tuesday evening, June 23, 2026, at his home surrounded by loving family. A celebration of life was held Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Gordon Methodist Church, Gordon GA, at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation for family and friends at 1:00 p.m. The Reverend Frank Morris officiated.

United States Marine Honors were observed.

Daniel was born on October 6, 1955, in Bonita Springs, FL to the late Daniel William Sheffield Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents who he cherished so much and his daughter, Crystal Gail Baker.

Daniel served his country as a proud United States Marine and trained at Pearl Harbor. He had the biggest smile and that is what attracted his wife to him. He was the love of her life and a faith filled man. He was a very smart, kind, and loving man. He was an enthusiast of planes and helicopters and could tell you anything you wanted to know about them.

He was a hobbyist. He enjoyed making lamps out of various materials and also enjoyed making model aircrafts and bullets. Daniel was a big outdoorsman. He loved to spend his time hunting and fishing. He is also a proud and dedicated father and grandfather.

He was his family’s everything. His favorite sayings were “don’t give up and don’t give in” and “always be true to your faith in God.”

Daniel leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 26 years, Donna Hite Sheffield; his loyal best friend, Biscuit; his children, Billy Sheffield III, and his children, Nicole, Emily, and Jayden Sheffield; son-in-law, Jerry Wayne (Rebecca) Baker; and his daughters, Trinity Baker, Hope (Brent) Randall; and their children, Olivia Sheffield, Ruby Randall and Benjamin Randall, Zoyey Randall, Ryan Randall, Logan Randall, and Nicholas Randall.

Mother, Ometa Sheffield; and siblings, Mark (Samantha) Sheffield, Mike (Tamara) Sheffield, Mary Jane (Dave) Cadman, Julie Skillman and many nieces and nephews.
