David Ramos Jr.

David Ramos Jr. was a son, older brother, cousin, uncle, and dear friend to many. He was born in New York City as the eldest child of David Ramos Sr. and Ramona Caballero Ramos. David spent most of his childhood in Puerto Rico and Florida. He has always been able to connect with family and has a close relationship with many cousins on both sides. He was able to see through to the kindness of people’s hearts and loved them for it. David was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a two-year mission in Halifax, Canada from 1995-1997. He was very dedicated to his beliefs.

He loved serving and helping others. David and his father were caregivers to his mother for 7 years as she suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. He cared for her day and night and parsed his home down to just basic essentials in order to ensure his and her safety. He was also a dedicated and loyal older brother who made sure everyone else was always OK. Next month would have marked three years that he first had been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma, with which he was initially given a life expectancy of 8 months.

He always surpassed expectations and beat the odds. David will be dearly missed. He is survived by his parents, sisters, Amarilis (Whitney) and Rachel (Max), and his eight nieces and nephews, Dean, Sariah, Ysabel, Lilly, Phoebe, Lily, Everest, and Azucena.

Private services for David were held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gray, Georgia on October 7, 2023, for his family and friends.

Gray Memorial Chapel is honored to be entrusted with the care of the David Ramos family. You may register online condolences at graymemorialchapel. com.
