Gary L. Dumas was born on October 3, 1960, to the late Clarence W. and Mattie K. Dumas. He was called home to the Lord on May 28, 2024. Gary was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Clarence Dumas. After graduating from Jones County High School, Gray, GA in 1979, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served until retirement.
Gary was employed by Verizon for almost 27 years finding an extended family among the employees there.
Gary leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Caroline Dumas; daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Andre Sandford; a grandson, Omar Sandford; brother, Tracy Dumas; sisters, Sandra Dumas and Tabatha (Dexter) Clark along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a beloved special friend, Renata Hinton. He is also survived by two Godsons, Donald Williams and Mathew Brown.
Services were held at Body of Christ Church, Gray, Georgia on June 12, 2024, starting at 2 p.m. with committal to follow at St. James AME Church, Bradley Community.
Repass will follow at Butler Hall Event Center, Gray, GA.
Jones Brothers Mortuary, 3035 Millerfield Road, Macon, GA was in charge of arrangements.
