Jimmy was born on August 8, 1950, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late James Clarence Johnson and Elizabeth Moody Johnson.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was a man of deep faith and unwavering love for his family. He was a longtime member of Roundway Baptist Church, where he found joy in serving others, especially ensuring the children at church were always well-fed.
As the owner of RJ’s Coatings, Jimmy took great pride in his work as a painter. He was known for his strong work ethic and determination, overcoming many hardships in life with resilience and perseverance. Beyond his career, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, and indulging in his favorite treat—ice cream. He had a special gift for nicknaming his loved ones and was always concerned for the well-being of others. His faith-filled, joyful spirit touched many lives, and he was a strong supporter of Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Ruby J. Johnson; his son, George Amos Johnson; his parents; his brothers, Michael Johnson, William Johnson, Jerry Johnson, and Steven Johnson; and his brother-in-law, Michael Hair.
