John William Anderson II passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital peacefully surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life for John will be held at a later date.
John was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 19, 1958, to the late John William Anderson I and Virginia Cook Anderson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Don Mathis and nephews, Paul Mathis and Michael Mathis.
John made San Bernardino, California his home for many years before moving back to Gray, Georgia to be near his sister, Beth and Tim.
He was an engineer having graduated from Southern Technical Institute.
John is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth (Beth) and Tim Keaney and their children, Layla Shepperd and Shane Keaney, Mary Mathis, Stone Mountain, Georgia; niece, Erin Prowett and three great nephews, Walker, Will, and Joe Mathis.
