Joseph Kurt Mickulin

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph Kurt Mickulin, age 57, of Jones County, Georgia, who departed this life on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Born on November 6, 1967, in Billings, Montana, Kurt was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend whose presence touched the lives of all who knew him. A visitation was held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 284 James Street, Gray, Georgia. A Celebration of Life service followed at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Whitney Palmer. Interment took place at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens 7070 Houston Road, Macon, Georgia 31216.

A proud graduate of Jones County High School’s Class of 1984, Kurt furthered his education at Southern Technical Institute and Macon State College. He dedicated many years of hard work and commitment to Armstrong World Industries before his well-earned retirement.

His colleagues remember him as a knowledgeable and vocal contributor, always willing to lend his expertise.

Kurt was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where his faith was a cornerstone of his life. He found daily solace in reading the Bible and praying, actions that guided his steps and inspired those around him. An avid outdoorsman, Kurt cherished the serenity of nature, spending countless hours hunting and fishing. As a member of the Middle Georgia Bass Club, he combined his love for the sport with a camaraderie that enriched his life.

Family was Kurt’s greatest treasure. He is survived by his loving children; Trevor Mickulin (Alyssa), Morgan Mickulin (Jeremy), and Crystal Pearce (Ross); his devoted mother, Fay Rowland; and his siblings, Tracy Tyre (Michael) and Scott Mickulin (Ami). He was the proud grandfather of Kaliyah Dews, Lexi Tillman, and Eden Pearce, who brought immense joy to his life. His cherished dog, Cookie, was his constant companion and loyal friend. Kurt’s legacy also lives on through his many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Kurt was preceded in death by his father, Keith Foster Mickulin, whom he now joins in eternal rest.

Kurt had a zest for life that was evident in his love for movies and his eagerness to share his insights with others. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed.
