DRY BRANCH: Loretta (Jean) Jones Harrell passed away Friday morning, April 28, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving daughter and granddaughters. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Elam Memorial Gardens 12:00 noon with Rev. Tracy Hipps officiating.
Jean was born on Sep. 8, 1944, to the late Jesse Roger Jones and Mary Nell Skinner. Preceded in death also by her husband, Daniel Wingate Harrell, son; Brant Harrell, siblings; Timmy Jones, Tommy Jones, Mary Ann Crane, Danny Jones, Bruce Jones, Steve Jones, Celia Jones and Jesse Jones.
Jean was retired from Brown and Williams Corporation after twentyfive years of service.
She lived her life for her children and loved them dearly. Walking into the Harrell house was like walking into family. Jean was determined, strong, hardheaded, but was always generous with all she had to her last dollar.
Jean would always say, “No matter how old they get, they are mine to spoil”.
She is survived by her children; Barbara (Mike) Cox, and their children; Megan (Josh) Wright, Brianna (Timothy) Jackson, Katie (Roscoe) Rowe, son; Danny Harrell, daughter in law; Cheryl Harrell and her children; Christy (Joey) Richards, Jason (Kelly) Harrell, Brandon Harrell, great grandchildren; Emma, and Josie Wright, Braiden Jackson, Gracynn Rowe, Vivian and Virginia Harrell, brothers; Ricky, Roger and Randy Jones.
