Monty Edward Mayhue

Monty Edward Mayhue, age 67, of Gray, Georgia passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A visitation was held on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at Gray Memorial Chapel from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A funeral service was held at First Baptist Church of Gray, Georgia on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Randy Darnell officiating and Chaplain Lisa Johnson assisting. Interment followed in Gray Memorial Gardens, “At Cedar Ridge”, Greene Settlement Road, Gray, Georgia.

Monty was born on, Oct. 18, 1958, in Stuttgart, Germany to the late Charles Edward and Gloria (Taylor) Mayhue. He made Gray, Georgia his home.

He had a distinguished career with The Atlanta Gas Light Company in Macon LNG Plant as their plant manager. His career was marked by his devoted service and work ethic which he passed on to his three children. His courageous fight for the last remaining years will be legacy of devotion he showed to his children as generous gift of faith, humility, and selflessness. Monty lives on in his generous, gentle spirit, kind heartedness and gaminess.

He used his handyman ingenuity and love for cars to bring back to life his barn find, his1969 Chevrolet Camaro. Monty’s children and grandchildren will forever be inspired by his kind heart, never ending support, wise counsel and sprit to laugh and be funny. His faith showed in his commitment and support to his church and its ministry efforts.

He married the love of his life, Ginger Mayhue, and they were happily married for 43 years. He is survived by his children, Ashley (Matt) Bunn, Matt (Delta) Mayhue, Brooke (Marcus) Stanford and five grandchildren, Landon, Mayson, Aria, Maverick, Mallex and his siblings, Chuck (Michelle) Mayhue and Renee (Jim) Lessel and numerous nieces and nephews.
