Patricia Ann “Patsy” Chapman

July 2, 1936 - June 12, 2024

Patricia Ann “Patsy” Chapman, age 87, of Jones County, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Born on July 2, 1936, in Milledgeville, Georgia, Patsy lived a life marked by generosity, kindness, and resilience.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, known for her servant’s heart and unwavering dedication to her family and community. A long-time and founding member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a current member of Greenwood Baptist Church, Patsy’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, and being involved with her church and Sunday School. Patsy also cherished sitting around with friends, sharing old stories about life and emphasizing the importance of family.

Patsy is survived by her sons, Les (Elaine) Chapman, Lee Chapman, Kerry Chapman, and Kevin (Cathy) Chapman; her grandchildren, Nelson Chapman, III, Kimberly (John) Sumrow, Ashlee (Melvin) Hubert, Justin (Kelly) Chapman, Adam Chapman, Lindsey Chapman, Dalton Chapman, Colin Chapman, and Brayden Chapman; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lewis Davis and Sarah Lucille Watson Davis; her husband, Arlis Nelson Chapman, Sr.; and her grandson, Brandon Chapman.

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Greenwood Baptist Church, 3400 Gray Highway, Gray, Georgia 31032. A Celebration of Life service followed at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Kim Washburn.

Interment was private.

Patsy’s grandsons honored her as pallbearers.
