Patricia “Ann” Steed

Ms. Patricia “Ann” Steed, 85, of Gray, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024. Funeral services were at Sunshine Church, Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Debbie Wallace officiating. The family greeted friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment at Sunshine Church Cemetery followed the service.

As a child, Ann attended Hillsboro Elementary School and Gray Elementary School and later graduated from Jones County High School in 1957. She met her future husband, Jackie Steed, at a local dance, and they enjoyed over 58 years of marriage together. After raising her children at home, Ann went to work at the Bank of Gray where she retired with more than 32 years of service there.

She was a sweet and friendly woman who could talk for hours with friends and neighbors about anything and everything going on in her small community of Round Oak. Ann enjoyed going on cruises and taking trips to the North Georgia mountains, and she adored her cat, “June Bug.”

Ann was a faithful Christian and a lifetime member of Sunshine Church. Known as “Nanny” by her loving family, Ann’s memory will be cherished by all those who knew her.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Jackie David Steed; parents, Charlie and Louise Tillman; brother, Charles Tillman; and daughter-in-law, “Pat” G.

She is survived by her sons, Michael David Steed and Mark Allen Steed, both of Round Oak, Georgia; grandchildren, Brandee McCollum (Matt) of Gray, Cassie Woodward (Krys) of Round Oak, Bladen Steed of Miaswa, Japan and Kristie Denaro (Jesse) of Haddock, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Chesney McCollum, Colton Woodward, Cooper Woodward, Harper Woodward, Hadley Ann Denaro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
