William Harris “Bill” Chambers, Jr. age 84, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026. Graveside services were held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 4, at Chambers Family Cemetery. Dr. John Beck officiated.
Mr. Chambers was born in Milledgeville, GA on September 19, 1941, to the late Williams Harris Chambers, Sr. and Sara Napier Chambers. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia earning his degree in Dairy Science. He was a member of Block & Bridle and Alpha Gamma RHO. He was preceded in death by a son, David Alan Chambers; a daughter, Allie Chambers Griner; and a brother, Douglas Chambers.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Rose Smith Chambers; two sons, William Harris “Billy” Chambers, III (Marcy) and Jess Chambers (Christina) all of Jones County; three daughters, Jill Chambers Myers (Ken) of Byron, Kay Chambers Brooks (Trippe), of Milledgeville, and Beth Chambers of Jones County; two sisters, Mary Ann Washburn of Jones County, and Sara Frances Kiker of Dalton; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
