MIDDLE SCHOOL BASEBALL
Clifton Ridge Middle School got multiple pitchers to step up in key moments last week. The result was a MGMSAL conference title to finish the season with a 15-1 record.
The Cougars began the conference’s postseason last week in the semifinal against Gray Station. Playing through rainy conditions, CRMS won 1-0 with Aaron Vaughan getting a complete-game win last Tuesday.
There was no lack of intensity coming off the close win two days later. The Cougars jumped on Pike County with multiple runs early on, and with the starting pitching of Ethan Jones followed by Cruz Hasty in relief, it was more than enough to win a conference title with Clifton Ridge winning 6-2.
