Denson to return as Greyhounds’ tight ends coach, culture coordinator

Slowly and surely, the Greyhounds football coaching staff is taking shape under new head coach Justin Montgomery.

While there are bound to be some new faces coaching from the sidelines next fall, there will be some continuity as well. Part of that was announced last week with the return of tight ends coach David Denson in addition to the role of culture coordinator.

Denson has been part of the Greyhounds program for the past five years after starting his coaching career at Howard High School in Macon under Barney Hester, where he coached for four seasons on staffs that included eventual JCHS assistant coach Adam Gillhouse as well as Montgomery.

Denson has been part of coaching staffs in Gray during those five years that have won at least 10 games three times as well as advancing to the quarterfinal round of state playoffs once to go with one semifinal appearance.
