Cheer clinic set for Oct. 1

The JCHS cheerleading program will host its future cheerleading clinic on Oct. 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cheer Factory.

Open to ages PreK through fifth grade, the cost is $35 per participant and includes a t-shirt and cheer bow.

Participants should bring a snack and water to the clinic and parents will be asked to sign a medical release form at the clinic. Camp participants will take part in a pregame performance at 7 p.m. on Oct. 7 prior to the Greyhounds football game that night. Sanchez takes first at GMC Bulldog Dash

A local middle school cross country event once again came to its conclusion with Gray Station Middle’s Isabella Sanchez near the front.

Competing in the GMC Bulldog Dash last Thursday in Milledgeville, she was the top finisher in the girls middle school race, taking first with a time of 13:53.22. Becca Durrett was also among the top finishers, timing in 18th at 15:19.79.

In the boys middle school race, Gray Station’s Owen Wommack led the way again, running a 13:55.84 that was good for 21st as Chase Ham was 26th with a time of 14:15.95.
