Jones County will be the host on Feb. 17 as local football players with hopes of playing at the next level will have the opportunity to be seen at a prospect showcase hosted at the Morris Bank Recreation Complex from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Greyhounds finish fifth in state

JEFFERSON – Before the first wrestler even took the mat last weekend in the GHSA State AAAAA Team Duals, the Greyhounds were already in select company.

Push toward postseason play in effect following split with Wolverines, Wildcats

With more time off than expected due to a schedule change, the Greyhounds began the second half of the region schedule last Thursday as the top team in the region standings behind first-place Dutchtown.

Lady Hounds get split after loss to top-ranked Union Grove

For a half, the Lady Greyhounds hung with top-ranked Union Grove on Thursday, fighting back to trail by just three points at halftime. Then, the visiting Wolverines showed why they’re ranked so high and the reason that they have lost just once this year.

Highway 49 baseball/ softball sign ups ongoing Baseball and softball sign-ups are ongoing for the Highway 49 complex and go through Feb. 10. In-person sign-ups are from 6 pm to 8 pm on Jan. 25 and from 11 am to 3 pm on Jan. 27, Feb. 3 and Feb. 10.
